Privacy Policy for Merge Windows (JBJ)
Last updated: October 2, 2026
Merge Windows (JBJ) is a Chrome extension published by JBJ Insurance. It moves every tab from your other Chrome windows into the window you are using. This policy explains what the extension does with your data.
The short version
The extension does not collect, store, sell or share any of your data. It never sends anything over the internet.
What the extension reads
When you click the toolbar button, the extension asks Chrome for a list of the tabs in your other windows. For each tab it uses only:
- the tab's ID number and the window it is in
- whether the tab is pinned
- which tab group it belongs to, if any, and that group's name, color and whether it is collapsed
It uses this to move the tabs and rebuild their groups in your current window. The extension does not ask for the "tabs" permission, so Chrome does not give it the web address or title of any tab. It cannot see the content of any page you visit.
What the extension keeps
Nothing. The details above live in memory only while the merge runs, which takes about a second. The extension does not save anything to your computer, to Chrome sync or to any server.
What the extension sends
Nothing. The extension makes no network requests of any kind. It has no analytics, no ads and no tracking.
Permissions
The extension asks for one permission, tabGroups. Chrome needs it so the extension can read a tab group's name, color and collapsed state and create the same group in your current window.
Changes to this policy
If the extension ever starts handling data in a new way, this page will be updated before that version is published, and the date at the top will change.
